Remember where you were in 1987? That spring, farmers along the Mekong river in Yunnan were harvesting this delicacy, with the intention of aging the leaves in batches. Much like aged single-malt whiskeys, wines, and other such things, these Shou Pu-erhs are coveted for their rich flavour. The '87 harvest has a smooth, rich leather flavour with undertones of stonefruit, cinnamon, and molasses, leaving lasting impressions of damp cedar and a crisp pear finish.
